The unit is at the heart of designing and delivering the Government’s police reform agenda, working with the law enforcement community to adapt to changing crime trends; improve efficiency and effectiveness and safeguard the public. This includes leading work on emergency services collaboration; development of the role of Police and Crime Commissioners and policing elements of English devolution.
Zonia graduated from Aberdeen University in 1997 with a Masters degree in History and International Relations. She worked in Canada before joining the UK Civil Service in 1999. Zonia has held a variety of roles in different departments including the Cabinet Office, Defra and the Food Standards Agency. She has local delivery experience in the Employment Service and international experience with both the EU and NATO. She has extensive experience in crisis management in central government and also led a multi-agency team to ensure emergency preparedness in London. Zonia has had a lead role in a number of high profile projects and events, including the 2012 Olympics
