Sarah has over 18 years’ experience in corporate learning and development and in higher education. In addition to her wealth of experience in employer engagement and work-based learning, Sarah is an expert in higher and degree apprenticeship policy and practice. Under her leadership, Staffordshire University has grown to be one of the largest university providers of higher and degree apprenticeships in the UK. Sarah is Co-Chair of the Higher Education Employer Apprenticeship Trailblazer and she works with the Department for Education, lobbying on degree apprenticeship policy. She is a Guest Editor and Reviewer for the University Vocational Awards Council’s Journal of Higher Education, Skills and Work-based learning.
Following 10 years’ service in a variety of learning and development and employer focused roles at Staffordshire University, Sarah was appointed Director of Employer Partnerships in April 2017. The role will drive forward the University’s business and economic engagement with particular emphasis on enterprise, graduate employability and workplace skills.
