Roger Tapping

School Quality Assurance Consultant

Roger retired in 2016 after 36 years in co-educational, all boys and all girls schools to focus on consultancy, INSET provision, writing, inspection and his role as a Trustee of the Sussex Learning Trust and Vice-Chair of the Local Governing Body. He served on Senior Leadership Teams for 25 years as Head of Department, Day and Boarding Housemaster, Head of Sixth Form, Director of Studies and Academic Deputy. He gained his NPQH in 2002 and was winner of the Royal Geographical Society ‘Innovative Teaching Award’ in 2008.

Roger has inspected with the ISI since 2003 and has prepared schools for inspection successfully within all ISI frameworks by developing a ‘good to excellent’ self-evaluation system. He now serves as a School Quality Assurance Consultant advising on regulatory compliance and supporting mechanisms to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
