Rachel Travers

CEO, Amaze

Rachel Travers is the CEO of Amaze – a Sussex based charity supporting families with children and young people with SEND. Amaze has been jointly commissioned by Brighton and Hove City Council for 20 years to deliver two statutory duties: providing independent information, advice and support and running the city’s children’s disability register. The charity also runs the register for West Sussex County Council and delivers Independent Support across Sussex.

Amaze’s services were cited as highly effective in the Brighton and Hove’s recent Ofsted/ CQC SEND inspection which said that, “together with that of the various special educational needs services, appeals against placement decisions are very rare and mediation effective.” Amaze also hosts the local parent carers’ forum (PaCC) which works well in co-production with the city’s key SEND professionals.

After starting her career in the private sector, Rachel moved to the voluntary sector 18 years ago working at Shelter and the Refugee Council in London before moving to Brighton.
