Professor Martin Doel

Professor of Leadership in Further Education and Skills, The Further Education Trust for Leadership (FETL) & UCL Institute of Education

Professor Martin Doel was appointed as the first FETL Professor of Leadership in Further Education and Skills at UCL Institute of Education in April 2016.

He was awarded the CBE in 2016 for his contribution to education and an OBE in 1998 for his work in support of operations in the Balkans and for his contribution to Anglo German relations.

His particular research interests at UCL Institute of Education are concerned with the distinctive contribution that further education can make to national prosperity and individual well-being, and the leadership challenges facing further education providers of all kinds.
