Community Support Officer & Hoarding Specialist, Tidy Homes Tidy Minds

I provide Tenancy and Crisis support to tenants who are struggling to cope with their tenancy and day-to-day life. I offer support to tenants in the following areas: mental health, drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence, child protection, safeguarding adults and children, welfare benefits and general day-to-day struggles.

I have extensive knowledge of social welfare, benefits, debt aid, mental health, alcohol and drug misuse, child protection, adult and child safeguarding, grant and funding applications.

I have set up two successful projects supporting food poverty by providing emergency food parcels to Southway tenants who are struggling, especially those who are on welfare sanctions. Recently I have managed to secure funding to help local community groups to provide a food bank in conjunction with The Trussell Trust. The 2nd project is a Recycling Project – when I came to Southway I was shocked at the amount of good items being disposed of from void tenancies. So with the company’s backing I now have storage space and can help new and existing tenants to furnish their tenancies and make their home a proper home.

I am in the process of setting up a new project to provide practical help to tenants with hoarding issues, providing them with CBT and other support.
