Lynn Bell

Founder & CEO, LOVE Scotland

Lynn Bell is the founder and CEO of LOVE. She is wife of Scottish Police Detective, John Bell, and mother to three boys Joshua, Cory and Max. Through her working life, she has become a role model for women in business and an advocate for education and social justice.

Lynn has always felt an affinity with young people, and this is where her passion grew into sheer determination for social change and ensuring vulnerable people could access education. Lynn went back to college which accessed her into Strathclyde University on a Sociology and Politics degree in 2002.

Since then, Lynn has completed a new qualification every year, ranging from compliance awards in social care, leadership and project management. She joined Scottish Fire and Rescue in 2009 as part of a childhood dream to become a firefighter and became probationer of the year and won a start award.

Lynn was promoted to crew manager and became assessor and verifier for SQA Awards within the fire service. This learning development experience allowed her the varied background required to found the charity Love Learning Scotland in 2014. This is now LOVE learning, a programme of LOVE.

Lynn has been involved in community programmes across Scotland, and under her leadership as CEO, the growth of LOVE has skyrocketed.

Lynn is a Master practitioner of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and both this and ongoing personal development has had a huge influence on her life.

Lynn has continued her efforts to support and inspire young people and is a board member on Young Enterprise Lanarkshire.
