Katherine Gill

Head of Primary at New Regent's College , Hackney Learning Trust

Katherine has been a teacher for twenty years, a majority of that time working with children with special educational needs in Newham and Hackney. She has been an Assistant Head for Inclusion for fifteen years and the Nominated Safeguarding Lead giving her first hand experience of liaising with a variety of external agencies. Katherine has been Head of Primary for the last two years at New Regent’s College, Hackney’s Pupil Referral Unit.  She is only too aware of the difficulties parents face with the educational system. Her specialist areas of strength include: communication, identification of SEND, SPLD and autism.

Katherine has held many roles within the primary sector: Nominated Safeguarding Lead, SENCO, Autism Resourced Provision Base Lead, SENCO of Children’s Centre and is a qualified assessor for Dyslexia with accreditation from AMBDA.

She holds a PGCE in Primary Ed, MA in Psychoanalysis and MA in SPLD (Dyslexia).
