Whilst studying for a degree in Accounts, Jennifer entered the world of hospitality and from her first experience of silver service, Jennifer was captivated. Jennifer worked all over Scotland gaining experience in both Operational roles for the first 10 years of her career and Human Resources, thereafter. Working in many five star properties including the prestigious Cameron House and Mar Hall. Whilst working within the Operation Jennifer furthered her education studying personnel practice at Strathclyde University.
Jennifer is currently the People Development Director at Blythswood Square Hotel and leads a Team of 270 sitting on the Executive Committee. During her time she has lead the Team through many changes moving from private ownership to being part of a Global Organisation. Jennifer’s focus is always on recruitment, training, development and coaching making sure that not only do her guests feel like rock stars but her team do as well.
Jennifer prides herself on the achievements of her team with her Spa Director winning a prestigious Catey Award and her Front Office Manager gaining the accolade of an Acorn which recognises the brightest talent in the industry.

Jennifer drives the excellence within the company and the hotel has won a number of industry and tourism awards including the prestigious Independent Hotel of the Year Award at the 2018 Cateys.
In 2018 Jennifer was appointed Vice Chair of Apprenticeship in Hospitality Scotland, an industry-led training programme that focuses on raising the profile of hospitality apprentices in Scotland. Jennifer now focuses on the strategic development of the organisation, which was recently awarded the Princess Royal Training Award.
Jennifer believes she is truly privileged to work in the dynamic and exciting world of Hospitality and wants to share the fantastic opportunities the hospitality industry has to offer. She is on the HIT Emerging Talent Committee, a Chartered member of the Chartered institute of People Development and is a founding member of Apprenticeship in Hospitality Scotland
