Jane Lunnon

Headteacher, Wimbledon High School

Jane Lunnon was appointed Head of Wimbledon High School in September 2014 having been Deputy Head, Assistant Director of Studies and Head of English at Wellington College previously.

Jane is an English graduate from the University of Bristol and began her career in marketing before taking up teaching. She is a governor at two schools and on the Education Board of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Jane is passionate about ensuring academic excellence is underpinned by outstanding pastoral care within an engaging curriculum and equally stimulating co-curriculum. Jane has stated, ‘I am a firm believer in the individual – there is no “one size fits all”. It is the job of all of us involved in education to give children a sense that they belong to something greater than themselves, to help them look up and out and to give them a real understanding of their agency in the world. When that works, there is no better job!’
