Heather Jack is an independent Information and Records Management consultant. She set up her business, HJBS Ltd., in 2003 firmly believing that too often technology rather than organisational need was driving information and records management in the increasingly digital world. She helps her predominantly Scottish public sector clients do what they do better by managing their information as an asset to minimise risk, reduce cost and maximise value.
Heather was a member of the recent Stakeholder Forum which supported the Public Records Scotland Act Model Plan revision and led the workstream on third party compliance. She was also a member of the British Standards Institute Review Panel for the recent revision of ISO 15489, the International Records Management Standard. Heather is an accredited member and Fellow of the Information and Records Management Society, has been Scotland Chair and UK Conference Director, and was Records Manager of the Year in 2008.
