Gulshan works as a successful education, learning and development consultant, having been a teacher and a senior leader. Gulshan has extensive knowledge of data and data analysis, teaching and learning, including for SEND pupils and those in Pupil Referral Units. She is used to supporting and coaching teachers to develop and improve their teaching and delivery, both in terms of getting it to good but also to develop outstanding teaching practice. As well as providing training and facilitation in a wide range of areas, and to diverse audiences, Gulshan is an experienced lead inspector. Over her career she has worked with schools across the 3 to 19 age-range, universities, a broad range of education authorities, the police, local councils and, more recently, the health service, as well as voluntary sector organisations to provide advice, guidance, training and support for development and improvement. Much of her work has involved reviewing organisational effectiveness, including that of governance, in order to inform planning for improvement. She is skilled in using a wide range of management tools, such as performance management, to improve outcomes and coaches and mentors new and aspiring leaders. Her latest education project is working with a group of schools in a London LA to improve the achievement of more able pupils. In the past, Gulshan chaired Suffolk Police Authority, leading it and Suffolk Police through significant organisational development and change.
