Dr Paul Bacsich leads the UK work for the EU project D-TRANSFORM, on developing a curriculum and support resources for leaders and senior managers of European institutions who wish to learn more about leading the digital transformation of their institutions. He has led or otherwise participated in at least seven EU projects on open education policies and business models in the last few years. As well as several years of work for the Higher Education Academy on the Benchmarking E-Learning and Pathfinder programmes, and for many English HEIs, he has considerable experience advising higher education institutions and agencies on digital learning issues in Wales, Republic of Ireland, Sweden, Canada and New Zealand. His interests cover digital student issues at schools and vocational education as well as universities.
In the last two years he chaired the external review panel for the Vision and Strategy Appraisal of the Open University Library and the E-learning review panel for Uppsala University, the oldest university in Sweden.
He is also a Fellow of EDEN (the European Distance and E-Learning Network), Co-Coordinator of the Open Education Working Group and a former Trustee of the Association for Learning Technology.
