Dr Linda Patterson OBE MB FRCP is currently a non-Executive Director of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust and on the board of Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) which commissions national clinical audits.
She worked for many years in East Lancashire as a Consultant Physician in General and Geriatric medicine, appointed 1986. She has worked both in hospital and community practice and has recently led a number of CQC Inspections.
She was the Clinical Vice President of the Royal College of Physicians, 2010-13. Other recent appointments include Trustee , Alzheimer’s Society, Non-Executive Director National Patient Safety Agency and senior reviewer Parliamentary and Heath Service Ombudsman. She was a Trust Medical Director and from 1999 -2004 was the Medical Director of the Commission for Health Improvement (CHI), the first statutory Quality Regulator of the NHS.
In 2000, she was appointed OBE for her services to medical management.
