Detlef Golletz

Consultant , Connect2Europe

Detlef’s experience with EU programs and projects spans the past 20 years across local, regional and central government and the third sector. He worked as Head of Europe or EU Programs Director in Groundwork London, the Institute for Sustainability and The South East England Development Agency. For the latter he ran the entire EU team, with responsibility for ERDF, ESF, RDPE and a number of Interreg A, B and C and LIFE funded EU projects. He achieved ERDF leverage into every single port in the SE Region and used EU funding to deliver Britain’s second most important rail freight corridor. His main experience is at EU project management and partnership development and management level. Currently, he works with the Canal and River Trust (formerly British Waterways) to develop a number of new projects funded through Interreg and with a German city council to access twinning funding.

Detlef also worked in the Government Office for London, dealing with large scale development projects across London, most of which are now coming to fruition. He also worked abroad, running a planning office in East Berlin after Unification, helping to set up a joint venture planning practice in Johannesburg after Apartheid and worked on World Bank funded transport environmental assessment projects in the Caribbean.
