Cosette Crisan

Leader of the MA in Mathematics Education Programme, UCL Institute of Education, University College London

Cosette Crisan taught pure mathematics for ten years at higher education level and for the past seven years she has been teaching mathematics education at UCL Institute of Education, University College London. She has led a number of projects on using the new technology in secondary school mathematics and worked as a consultant on national and international teacher development projects. In addition to her work on the PGCE Mathematics, Cosette leads the MA in Mathematics Education programme and co-designed and co-leads the masters level online asynchronously delivered module ‘Digital Technology for learning mathematics’. Cosette researches teachers’ professional knowledge for teaching, the identity of non-specialist teachers teaching mathematics, the use of the new technology in teaching mathematics and she supervises master and doctoral level work in mathematics education.
