Chris Gent is WDH’s Debt Recovery Manager and has worked within the business for over 20 years. During his career Chris has worked in a range of traditional housing management functions. For the last 10 years he has been responsible for the management and operational delivery of the Debt Service. During this time Chris has demonstrated a passion and determination to fundamentally change service delivery, reduce waste and improve service provision and improve performance outputs to evolve the debt service team.
Chris strongly believes that in order for a service area to be successful, you must have a team that is empowered and engaged with its culture. With this in place the service will have the confidence to grow and develop. Working alongside the Financial Inclusion Team, Chris has played a part in developing WDH’s approach to income management which encompasses his strong beliefs and principles to empower and drive a modern service.
The journey Chris has undertaken has ultimately provided a new generation of debt service that is driven to meet the challenges and changing demands of both WDH and its customers. This has recently culminated in WDH’s Debt and Cash Wise service being awarded the UK Housing Award for an Outstanding Approach to Income Management.
