Aisling Boyle

Headteacher, Sanderson High School

Aisling Boyle graduated from Queen’s University of Belfast with a degree in English Literature and Language. She earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Secondary Education from University of Strathclyde and a Postgraduate Diploma in Support for Learning from University of Glasgow. She began her teaching career as a Mainstream English Teacher before moving into the Additional Support Needs (ASN) Sector. She has been in ASN for thirteen years, the last nine of which she has spent at in Senior Management level. Aisling was once the youngest Head Teacher in Scotland. Aisling is currently the Head Teacher of Sanderson High School in East Kilbride, Glasgow. Sanderson were winners of a Scottish Education Award for Employability across Learning (Secondary) 2017 and have been highlighted by Education Scotland as having interesting practice in their approach to Developing the Young Workforce, Career Education Standards and in Curriculum Design. Aisling has presented on curriculum and behaviour strategy at the Scottish Learning Festival and at Education Scotland’s ASN Workshop.
